10/30/2015 - DEBARKATION & "RELAXING" DAY
We were a bit sad ending our Disney Cruise journey! At the same time we were excited since we were about to start on our next Disney adventure. We started the day by notarizing our final DVC paperwork, finished packing, and then enjoyed a yummy breakfast at Enchanted Garden. My only complaint about debarkation was how chaotic it was to get our packet of pictures. It wasn't very efficient at all. We got off the ship shortly after breakfast and got on the bus to head to Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village. While on the way, Sean received an email that our room was ready for us. NICE! I was worried we weren't going to be able to check in until late in the afternoon. The lobby was nice and quaint. We walked to our room which took ridiculously long. That was my only big gripe about the resort. I kid you not, it took about 8 minutes just to get from the lobby to our room. It sucked after walking miles on end at the parks. Anyway, the room itself was roomy. I loved the decor and the view was beautiful!
After we unpacked we went to lunch at Sanaa. It was amazing! The naan bread was so delicious. It was our first time using our Disney Dining Points and our waiter was so kind to explain how it worked. We got one table service meal, one quick service meal, and one snack for 5 days. After lunch we decided to take a nap back at our room.
When we woke up we took the bus to Disney Springs... I can't tell you enough how much I despise the bus system. They pack people in them like cattle and it's very uncomfortable because you have no personal space at all! The buses come around every 20 minutes, which feels like an eternity. I had very high anxiety every time we had to ride the bus. I hated it that much. Anyways, Disney Springs is so huge! We only went to the Christmas store, World of Disney, and the Marketplace Co-Op. When we got back to the hotel, Sean, Jenn, and I explored Kidani Village. The fitness center and pools were so far away, but they looked great. We retired back to our room to get some sleep in preparation for our first theme park day.
10/31/2015 - HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
We celebrated Halloween at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Sean and I both dressed up as R2D2 for the event. We checked out the Walt Disney: One Man's Dream exhibit and it was my favorite thing we saw there! I was fascinated by the rich history that was in there about the man himself. We also got to watch a nice preview of The Good Dinosaur. We rode on the Rock N Roller Coaster and that was a blast! Lunch was at 50's Prime Time Cafe and the fried chicken was AMAZING. Best I've ever had! We rode on The Great Ride Movie, which I thought was okay. Star Tours was of course fun. The Lights, Motors, Action show was awesome. Dinner at The Hollywood Brown Derby was okay. We were terribly disappointed. I was bummed that we used 2 dining meal points for that place. The food was mediocre and the service was less than mediocre. I don't know if we were too harsh because of the stellar service we received on the Disney Cruise?
The only thing that came out of that meal that I really liked was the tickets for the best seats to watch Fantasmic. We were in the middle section in the second row! It was an amazing view! I was used to Disneyland's version of either standing or sitting on the floor. The stadium seating was a nice change and the show itself seemed longer and overall slightly better than Disneyland's version.
Hollywood Studios had some good things about it, but it definitely could have been a half day park for us. I felt like it resembled Disney's California Adventure (which is better in my opinion) and it was the dirtiest Disney park I've ever seen.
