CASTAWAY CAY - Wednesday, 10/28/15
One of my favorite days of vacation was on our 3rd day of our cruise! Castaway Cay is Disney's private island, and it is truly paradise. We started our morning by enjoying breakfast at Cabanas and then got off the ship. We had a Port Adventure to feed stingrays, but it got cancelled because of of the high tide. We weren't really bummed because that meant we had more free time to relax! Sean wasn't feeling well, so he headed back to the ship to relax and try to get better. My mom, sister, and I relaxed in the family beach for about an hour. Thankfully, the Wi-Fi connection from the ship reached us on the beach so I was able to keep in touch with my hunny. I sent him a message that we were headed to Serenity Bay (the adults only section) since I wasn't sure if I was going to get signal. We got to Serenity Bay and we immediately went swimming in the ocean. I was finally able to test out our new GoPro. I regret that we didn't invest in one sooner. I really miss the warmness of the island! The beautiful turquoise waters! The sand between my toes! I daydream about going back again. We started to get hungry so we ate lunch at Cookies Too and the food was delicious! They were serving steaks, fish, hot dogs, chicken, hamburgers, etc. Mmm, mmm, mmm. It makes me hungry thinking about all of that food. My face lightened up because I looked up and my husband was walking towards us! I was so happy! Since we were on the other side of the island I didn't have any Wi-Fi connection, so I was glad that he was able to find us.
After we ate, Sean and I headed straight to the ocean to go swimming while my family decided to lounge around on the beach. I got a beautiful tan that day and I'm sad that it's faded away. We stayed on the island until about 3:30 and then headed back to the ship. We showered/freshened up and relaxed. The show for the evening was a ventriloquist act, which had some funny parts, but I really wish we skipped it and did something else because I was not enthralled.
We ate dinner at Animator's Palate again. I don't know why some people don't like the Pirate's Night menus, I personally love it! After our yummy dinner we headed to the top deck to watch the fireworks. They aren't as spectacular as Disney Parks fireworks, but it's still an amazing sight to see. No other cruise lines do this! After the fireworks show we headed back to our room ordered room service. The room service is probably one of the few areas that I think needs improvement on the Disney Cruise Line... The room service menu consists of items like hot dogs, pizza, chicken tenders, french fries, chicken noodle soup, tomato soup, and chicken wings. Don't expect mind-blowing room service food, it's all just very basic.
