Disney Cruise and Disney World - PART ONE

I'm so excited to finally start posting about our trip! We did so much in 2 weeks that I'll be writing about our experiences over several blog posts.

Saturday, 10/24/15

We love going to the airport early so that we don't feel rushed or hurried. We got to the airport around 10:30 am and ate lunch at Chili's. We then relaxed in the Alaska Airlines Boardroom for a few hours until we departed. We left Anchorage at about 2:30 pm. When we arrived in Seattle we ate a quick dinner at the C Concourse food court and continued on our next flight to Orlando.

Sunday, 10/25/15

We arrived in Orlando early Sunday morning. What I love about MCO is that it's like a big mall! The airport is full of shops and places to eat. The airport is so big that there's a hotel in it, which is the Hyatt Regency. We stayed the night there and it was very pleasant and relaxing, especially since we traveled so far to get there.

Monday, 10/26/15

On Monday morning we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and checked out shortly afterward.

We got on a beautifully branded Disney Cruise Line bus and arrived at Port Canaveral at about 11:15 am. We checked in and were immediately able to board the Disney Dream. I love the welcoming announcement while boarding the ship, "Please welcome the Paraoan family!" Since the ship was dry docked before we sailed, we were able to get into our room right away (Usually rooms aren't available until sometime in the afternoon). We chose to be in room 10640, which is located in the stern, on the 10th floor. We liked it because the elevators aren't as busy as they are in mid-ship, and we were close to some of the restaurants and deck..

We ate lunch at Cabanas and it was understandably busy. I love that buffet! After lunch we went to the Disney Vacation Club party and enjoyed some complimentary prosecco and macarons. The free gift they handed out were some nice DVC branded cups. After the party we went back to our room and unpacked. At 3:45 pm we headed to the mandatory life boat drill, which didn't take long at all. We explored the ship afterward and ate a quick snack at Mater's Grill near the pool.

Sean and I had been thinking about expanding our Disney Vacation Club membership, so we went to a meeting to learn more about adding points. We walked out becoming owners at Aulani! Thank you, baby! Best anniversary present ever! :) After our meeting we met up with my mother and sister to watch the Golden Mickeys at the Walt Disney Theater. It was very entertaining!

Dinner was at Enchanted Garden. We chose the 2nd dining rotation so we ate our dinners at 8:15 pm. The pros about eating later are that there are less kids, the wait staff don't seem stressed and hurried, and the odds of being able to score a table without strangers is much easier. Our wait staff included Agus from Indonesia (Assistant Server), Caglar from Turkey (Server), and Dogan from Turkey (Head Server). On Disney Cruise ships, your wait staff follows you to your dinner dining locations (The exception is if you choose to eat somewhere else like Palo or Remy). We loved our trio, it was great getting to know them throughout our time on the ship.

After dinner we walked around and took pictures around the ship, and went to sleep at about 11:30 pm... *Sigh, I miss dreaming on the Disney Dream! <3
