Disney Cruise and Disney World - PART TWO

Tuesday, 10/27/15

The Disney Dream docked on Nassau in the Bahamas, but my family and I decided to stay on board. We chose to stay on the ship for several reasons:
  • We wanted more time to enjoy the ship
  • The ship is less busy when everyone is on port (No long lines for the AquaDuck!)
  • The only place I was really interested in seeing on Nassau was Atlantis. I always wanted to stay there! They make it look so amazing in commercials! However, I read so many negative reviews about the resort (too expensive, not well-maintained) and in Nassau in general. Those were ultimately the deal breakers.
We started our morning enjoying a breakfast buffet at the Enchanted Garden restaurant. After we let breakfast settle in our tummies, we headed to the Senses spa. I bought my family day passes for only $16 each. The day passes allow you to enjoy the different specialty showers, saunas, and whirlpools. It was definitely one of my favorite experiences on the ship. I felt so relaxed!

We spent about 1.5 hours in the spa, then decided to hang out at the pools and ride the AquaDuck. My description of the AquaDuck - it's basically a water slide roller coaster... SO MUCH FUN! We also ate pizza and watched Lion King poolside. :)

We went back to our stateroom and showered/freshened up, and then Sean and I started on the Mid-Ship Detective Agency. It's an interactive detective game where you try to solve a mystery by using a special card to unlock the interactive art that is scattered around the ship. It's so much fun and a great way to tour around the ship. I chose to do "The Case of the Missing Artwork" and Sean did "The Case of the Missing Show."

We took a short nap and then met up with my sister and mom to take pictures. Since we sailed around during the Halloween season, they had Mickey's Mouse-querade party that evening. Many people were dressed up in costumes, live music, fun games, and lots of candy. The show for the evening was Villains Tonight. It was cool seeing a Disney show that focused on the villains... Sometimes it's fun to be bad, right? Haha. Dinner was at Animator's Palate, which is my favorite place to dine!
